And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:18-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
I believe this is a great verse for any congregation, but especially large ones. Remember, we are not called to make converts, but disciples.
In this busy world we live in, it is challenging to make disciples in any size assembly.
It is even harder in a large assembly because of the dynamics of all of the people coming and going.
We are so blessed at El Shaddai Ministries to have incredible teachings from Pastor Mark Biltz, so what we lack is more one on one time to get to know each other better so relationships can build as HaShem desires them to.
Nothing is forced, but instead facilitated so that the Lord can put the right people with the right people, at His timing, not ours, in a safe environment.
This brings us to verse 20, teaching to them observe the commandments; of course not to earn our salvation, but because we love Him and truly want to serve out of that natural burning desire as we come to know Him better.
It is such a fun path He has allowed us to be on, studying the Hebrew roots of our faith.
I praise Him for not leaving me “back there”. The Bible has truly come alive for me and I have never enjoyed such a close walk with the Lord.
Because of that we make time to focus on a short life application teaching and have time for many different individuals to share and/or break up into small groups and fellowship once per month.
May the Lord Bless you and keep you,
