Of all the amazing verses Pastor Mark included in the Torah teaching, Hosea 13:14 is a standout!
Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death; O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction; repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
1. What does it mean to be ransomed? What power does the grave have? How meaningful is it to say, “I will ransom them from the power of the grave”?
2. How is G-d going to treat death?
3. Repentance means to turn. With this in mind, what is meant when G-d says, “repentance will be hid from mine eyes”?
Isaiah also gives us great promises regarding death…..
Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death for all time,
And the Lord God will wipe tears away from all faces,
And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
1. What is most encouraging about the words of Isaiah?
And in 2 Timothy, we see the fullness of the above promises in our Lord, the Messiah.
2 Timothy 1:10 …but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,…
The resurrection of our Lord shows us that all these promises are true, and the power of our great G-d will raise those in the grave. There is No G-d like our G-d!
